THURSDAYS MUSINGS...
So I'm having a turkey pot pie and I'm thinking about that lady on the news that sued Kraft foods because there was only .9 percent avocado in their guacamole dip. I've had that dip and it's pretty good. Hey guess what lady, in case you don't remember, strawberry Crush was a lot better before they added the real strawberry juice. I hope she doesn't start in on Swanson foods, because these things are delicious, and I'm pretty sure its just turkey and vegetables and what not. I'd hate to see them taken off of the market because there wasn't enough "pot" in them as stated...

Sssteve, turkey pot pies are great! Those things are about all I ate in college...

Oh, and I saw a CD I have that I had forgotten about and I thought of you and Wrecks of Oregon - it was by Russ Taff - do you remember him? Is he still around?

Russ Taff is awesome! His voice is incredible! (Sorry...I'm blog hogging)

I have one of his gospel tapes/cds.

He's good...did I mention he has an awesome, stirring voice?

Sorry...

Ssssteve, too funny...it's like a pie you can put your weeeed in...

Thanks RT, just got back from the Longhorn with my buddy and his wife. And she made a chocolate cake with the cream cheese frosting that I won't be sharing :)mmmm

JT/RT yeah Russ Taff is awesome. My favorite is called "The Way Home" I think. I saw him in the 80's on the "Medals" tour. I remember it was so loud that when the background vocals kicked in you couldn't hear anything. My dad had dropped me off and he could hear it really well across the street...good times

So this would be a good time to mention that I absolutely love Margaret Becker, too, right?

Btw...I think the song I really like by Russ Taff is titled, "I Cry."

He has amazing range.

hey RT, Thanks again, its been a fun day.

I haven't heard Margaret Becker in forever. I saw her in the 80's too on the "Immigrants Daughter" tour and she did rock! Is she still recording?

I'm not sure. I know she got into writing and producing a few years back. I hardly listen to the music I should be listenting to these days.

It all starts to sound the same with the same nasal "I wanna be M.W. Smith" sound. So then I go listen to Iron Maiden.

I am an enigma! :)

Glad you're having a great birthday!

I hear ya RT, My old roomate used to do the funniest M W Smith impression ever. He's the same roomate that coined the phrase in regard to gospel music, "Just because it says something true doesn't make it a good song"

And just because "they" say they are Christian or Gospel singers doesn't mean they live they life purported in their music. :)

(Totally aside....Rich Mullins was really good in concert, too.)

Russ is solo now, but travelling with the Gaithers. Marget Becker has soul! And Rich was the real deal! Russ's best album was "under their influence" Loved it!! Oh yeah and Happy Birthday!! Nice hair cut!!
